A Green-veined White butterfly (Pieris napi) resting on nettle. The shot was taken this morning on a woodland track,a nice warm day but everything is still damp after the heavy rains we have been having.

The Green-veined White can be found throughout the countryside but prefers damp sheltered areas. The dusky vein markings on the undersides of the wings are variable in colour and make it well camouflaged when it rests among vegetation.
Its is a common butterfly and widespread in Britain and Ireland.
Its range extends across Europe, parts of North Africa, across Asia and in North America.

Lovely pose Andy,
Exelent shot, good composition, very good colours, great dof, very good job.

Good one Andy
Nice color and good sharpness , and nice composision
Well done

Good colours, excellent detail and sharpness. All in all a really good close up.

This is a very beautiful butterfly, Andy. Crisp rendition of all the anatomical details, and a nice composition the way it is posing on the leaf. Colors are very good, too, thanks for sharing.

very nice compo here, like the overall white on this one .. Goood shot Andy !!

Very nice. I like the many greens here and the drops of water on the small leaves, giving the idea of a humid weather and a fresh morning. Good DOF.

Superb image so much detail to be seen. the only nit to correct would be the light/bright tip of the nettle with a light touch of burntool just to darken it a fraction.

Nice and sharp capture with good colours and DOF. Well placed in the frame.

Perfect capture of this Green-veined White Andy. Colours are very good and natural and the well blurred background sets him off very well. You even managed not to burn the white wings - very good job.

Hello Handy.
la netteté est fantastique. tout le papillon est parfaitement net.
la compsition est bonne avec ce jaune sur fond vert et cette ortie a gauche.
amicalement
