Grass Snake

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is another visitor to my garden a grass snake. These are an endangered species like most of our reptiles.
I was surprised at how fast they move through the water and managed to get 2 photographs before it disappeared in the rockery.
I have 2 large compost heaps and hope they may lay eggs in them as I know they look for places like that to keep the eggs warm. |

goode shot but it is present a micro-shake
Nice capture John, I know what you mean when they go they really do move fast! Seen a few here where I am in Sweden and tohave these in the UK is just great. I am sure you will have a few more in that compost heap. We have a compost heap near our place and there are many snakes there. So good luck with yours.

Good POV on this snake for sure. Great detail and colour, a little bright but still a good image. TFS.

Hi John,
they're darn fast, I know what you mean. But I think you did a great job. My experience with herpetofauna is that if you choose a low pov you get better eye contact and they see you less as a thread. Maybe next time :-)
