A snap shot (they are never still enough to pose) of one of the Wrens that are in the wood where I have my hide. I use a 1.4x converter and remote shutter release cord. AV (aperture priority) and spot metering.

Hello Peter,
I've been admiring your collection of wren shots on your web site!! They're really brilliant shots considering how shy this bird is, but I notice that you have a hide which explains your success. This one is razor sharp and the colours look so natural and background is very smooth too. Excellent composition too.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hi Peter,
This is one of the sharpest photos I've seen with the combination of 1.4x + 100-400mm. The body and the technique makes a great difference. Focus, and image quality is great. I liked the eye contact, the lighting, and the composition. Very well done.

Superb image, Peter.
'Wow' detail and sharpness..

Hello Peter
A very lovely photo of a beautiful little bird. This photo has it all; a good composition, very sharp focus, lovely catchlight in the eye, great colours, and a beautiful background.

Hello Peter,
A superb picture of this tiny bird, the detail sharpness and colour are all spot on, considering the shot was taken at long telephoto and a 1.4X converter, it is still
a crisp image,well done.
Best regards,

Wow! Good shot, Peter!
This is a big good luck to photography this careful bird! I know! ;) The Wren prefers the dark places. Beautiful capture with nice lighting and colors! Nice BG.
Regards and TFS,

G'day Peter
When I see shots like this its a nice feeling I feel of reminissing my childhood in Pommieland.
Great shot colour sharpness and backgound very nice.
I dont know if its but the bottom right hand side is a little distracting. Beautifull though it is.

Hi Peter,
beautiful pose, that wren looks very lively and alert.
Excellent focussing and well chosen depth of field.
The soft foreground and the neutral background offer a great frame. And I like the very subtle colours.
