OK - this might be the last picture for a week or two becuase I'm going north again on Saturday to accumulate some more pictures...

Loch Tulla - on what was a stunning day with amazing reflections caused by freezing fog. For those not remembering my excursions (don't blame you) I had taken a week out to visit my favourite haunts in Scotland, camping wild and pretty much just doing as I pleased.

The temperatures were cold for the UK (-12C) the previous night (and pretty much the entire week)... and I had gotten up to a beautiful morning sky, bright blue, not a cloud in sight and then the freezing fog came in and reduced visibility considerably. Initally I was really disappointed becuase I could not see a thing, but then...

Whilst it was rolling back, it left the place amazingly calm and this was one of the results.

Techincal stuff. Well this is a full frame picture, taken with a 0.3 hard edge graduated neutral denisty filter over the top half of the picture. Histograms balanced, resized and sharpened. All else is exactly as it was that day (minus the cold ;-))...

This was taken just off the A82 where the loch meets the road, only then I climbed a fence and got down to the loch shore (along with serveral pro's who were out that day as well). Moving well away from them got me this shot and serveral more like it. I will in time produce a panorama shot of this from side to side... but my stitching program is at home and I'm at work....

Please enjoy and if I don't get chance to catch up or post another picture, I promise I will do so when I return...

Hi Emma,
A beautiful view with a very cold aspect. Lovely colours and a great sensation of calm.
Have a great days in the north and take lot of photos to us!
TFS, José M.

A perfect example of why I believe Scotland is the most beautifuly country on the planet :-) I'm lucky to have travelled but it is scenes such as these that remind me of home, who I am and of my childhood.

Stunning shot, superb quality to the colour and a great feeling of "fresh air". Beautiful shot.

Hello Emma
Wonderful landscape from Loch Tulla,
Excellent reflection and lighting,
Great compo and POV, Welldone.

A picture of serene beauty. For a person who loves mountains and who is suffering Bangalore’s heat , it gives me great pleasure to watch these pictures . You have composed it very well to show the reflection

I see Lee filter system in use in this wonderful landscape from Scotland, Emma.
A beautiful landscape picture with the mountains mirroring on the surface of the placid lake.
The 50-50 division of the frame works wonders here and that forest in the middle offsets the rugged appeal of those mountains behind it.

Excellent technique and a beautiful image, Emma. I like that the reflection is not a perfect mirror image. The blurry, almost dizzying reflection gives a painterly quality. Very well done. Regards,

Hi Emma

Another splendid view from you about this magnificent Scotish landscapes ;)
This is indeed very beautiful! Thet amazing reflection works magic on the composition and the balance in the exposure is impeccable.
It's quite amazing to see you've got such a good weather during almost all your trip...i know it was cold...but just as you said: that's not shown in your pictures ;))

The colors are also lovely and well saturated, the details are great and the presentation is charming.
I'd love to see a super-wide panorama with this place one day ;)

Cheers, TFS and have a splendid weather on your upcoming trip!

Hi Emma,
So you are off again. Hopefully this time it will not only be you but also your hubby. I am glad you mentioned the exact location where you took this photo, so I can remember it ad copy it, but with summer colors.
The view you captured is really beautiful with the nicely distorted reflection and the soft fog covering the hills. It looks like you had a nice sunny winter day when you took this photo.
TFS, and have fun up north.
