Hello Chris,
Hope you are doing fine dear friend. Please accept new year's greetings from me.
This is a one hell of a superb shot of this immature Black Headed Gull. The sharp focus and the clarity of the image makes it almost look alive. The bird is certainly thirty if I am not wrong and the drops of water shine in the sharp sunlight. It is a keeper, great image!
Thanks a lot for sharing dear, take care.
warm regards,
Abid

Hello Mr.Christodoulos,
Beautiful picture of this Black-headed Gull.Majestic pose with very natural looks.Excellent colour and perfect sharpness.Even if we take a glance on its right leg we can see the reflection of light due to water.Nice sight of this thirsty bird.Water droplets and catching light on eye made it ALIVE.
With huge respect on your Photography knowledge just I have a question if you don't mind-I looked carefully on the white and brown feathers, from where black feathers(tail portion)started and it seemed to me that this portions sharpness is little bit more than middle of wing portions brown feather sharpness. So if I focus on bird's eye I will expect the best sharpness on its eye portion and gradually hind portion will be less sharpen than eye area(with my ordinary lens). In post processing, should I use same amount of sharpness throughout the whole body?
Although I don't know how will you take my comment. You know well I am a green horn person in this field. But it's just my opinion which I felt watching this Photograph. If don't like just ignore it.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice time,
Srikumar

Hi Chris,
Fantastic pic. I truly like the gull's position - maybe (s)he tries to protect him/herself (or the food) from another bird which is quite closed, but not visible on the photo. This "curve" in the bird's body really sells the picture. Sharpness is excellent, especially around the tail, and you've had the chance to have supporting sunlight, too. Reflection and waterdroplets are just plus. :-) Gorgeous image overall. Bravo!
Best regards, László
