I have taken this shot in golulsarani protected area in Khorasan shomali province , I hope like it .The Lammergeier or Bearded Vulture, Gypaetus barbatus ("Bearded Vulture-Eagle"), is an Old World vulture, the only member of the genus Gypaetus. It breeds on crags in high mountains in southern Europe, Africa, India and Tibet, laying one or two eggs in mid-winter which hatch at the beginning of spring. The population is resident. The Lammergeier has been successfully re-introduced into the Alps, but is still one of the rarest raptors in Europe.[2]

Like other vultures it is a scavenger, feeding mostly from carcasses of dead animals . this bird in iran is very famous and , peoples like it because Iranian people think that if this bird flynig around of head of any person .he can get any thing that he needed , to persian L. , we say to this bird Homa that it is name of Iran national air line

Hi Seyed

Great shot of the bearded vulture. Good composition and excellent sharpness and plumage details.

Chris

Hi Seyed.

Good detail and focus on this lammergeier in flight. We have feeding stations for them here in South Africa as people have encroached on their natural areas and killed off a lot of their normal prey.

Hello Seyed,
Fantastic shot of this Bearded Vulture in flight. Light and colours are amazing. Great sharpness and a very good composition. It's a pity that there are some dirty spots in the blue BG. It's easy to remove them.
Very beautiful!!!

Peter
