[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This photo is one of my unique shot because Iran Leopards are very hard to see . after 6 montgh try for photography of this very hard subject . in early morning of november 2005 in one quick sightnig . I success that taken just 3 shot of Iran leopard Panthera pardus saxicolor
in Tandureh national park in NE of Iran .These two adjacent reserves (Tandoureh National Park and Protected Area), 40 km north-north-east of Quchan, incorporate a section of the Kopet Dagh Mountains with a spectacular central valley flanked by impressive cliffs and containing a large perennial spring (Chehelmere). Most of the area consists of montane steppe with Juniperus woodland on steep slopes and some riverine thickets in the valleys. Principal habitats include Artemisia steppe and open scrub with scattered Juniperus in the central valley (930-1,500 m), steep rocky hillside with good montane steppe and stunted Juniperus (1,200-2,000 m), summit ridges and plateaus with well-watered montane steppe and some rocky outcrops (2,000-2,612 m), and spectacular cliffs, crags and gorges. There is a dense stand of riparian woodland in the gorge below Chehelmere spring.The Persian Leopard (panthera pardus saxicolor) live between Northern Iran and northwestern Afghanistan in mountain steppe and coniferous forest scrub - anywhere having a reasonable amount of cover, a supply of prey and freedom from excessive persecution.

Diet and prey
In Tandureh national park, the leopards feed principally on the bezoar goat (Capra aegagrus) and Urial Ovis orientalis arkali which provides plentiful prey resource for these carnivores. Its occurrence in leopard feces (scats) and contribution to total relative biomass consumed make over 90% what has allowed us to identify this herbivore species as a staple prey item. Female goats are most frequently taken and positively selected by the leopards. Goat kids are not selected at all.another prey for PL is Wild boar.
No feeding competition exists between the leopards and other co-existing large predators in this national park .another wild cats in Tandureh national park include wild cat Felis silvestris and Jungle cat Felis chaus and Pallass cat felis manul . I wish that enjoy of this photo

You are very lucky indeed excellent shot from you. I had the chance to take the Judean desert Leopard photo whil working in the Leopards research near the dead sea. Only few Leopards exist in southern Israel.www.eyalbartov.co.il

I'm impressed! I dreamed of meeting a Persian Leopard while travelling through Southeast Iran. It didn't happen...

unbelievable! I wish you can shoot other pesian wild cats in wild:Pallas cat,Sand cat,Lynx,Jungle cat,Wild cat & specially Yooz(cheetah),Also Leopard in other areas.
