[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
After consulting with several orchideophiles, it seems that the proper name for our Spider orchid is Ophrys adonidis or O. mammosa subsp. mouterdiana. The name commonly used here, O. sphegodes belongs to a more western spices.
In any case here and in the WS you see more expamples of this species, photographed in the Lower Galilee, where it si not common. |

Hello Ishi,
Another fine macro image of this beautiful Orchid. I like this shot even more then the previous posts, which were all very attractive. Your f/32 aperture resulted in some really good DOF. The fine hair-like texture is easily seen from this angle. Again colors are well saturated and you obtained just the right amount of exposure. Great work!!
Ron
PS. Funny but the very top greenish yellow part of the orchid, which I believe may be the anther cap, kind of resembles the head of a duck:)
thanks for the great closeup, all these micro-species names r confusing, a new workd in Kew Gardens have reduced the genus from 70 species to 30 !
Bonjour Ishi,
Très belle macro finement détaillée et délicatement colorée.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
