[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Tamarix tetragyna is one of the 13 species of the Tamarisk trees we have in Israel. This is a small to medium size tree, 4 to 6 meter tall, which prefers humid habitats, including salty ones. In springtime the tree is completely covered by very small flowers about 4 mm in diameter, as seen in the picture. Each flowers has four styles, thus the name of the species.
Picture was not cropped; slightly contrast enhanced, then reduced in size and sharpened. |
