Hello Ishi,
Probably 9 out of 10 people would have shown the fully opened bloom as their featured image. You went against the grain and automatically created curiosity by presenting the bud first, I like this style.
Both photos show wonderful qualities of sharpness, exposure, DOF and color. Just like the age old question (what came first)...(the chicken or the egg)...your end result is a gorgeous iris-like flower:) TFS.
