Hallo Rut
Welcome to Trek Nature. I trust you to have a most enjoyable and educational journey on the site by ways of interacting with fellow members and appreciating nature to the best. What a lovely bird to share as you start your journey on the site, and a stylish one indeed. It looks to me like some kind of a heron, and it has some lovely features to appreciate, like the reddish eye, and the stripe of grey feathers running from the eye to the beak. A great image, which was captured without pretence which I enjoyed looking at. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards.
Anna
Ps. I tried to look for some information on the internet on this bird, but could not find any if I enter the name you have given. Maybe you could help with some more information.
