[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Common Blue (Polyommatus icarus) is the most abundant and widely disterbuted of all European Blues. It can be found in all the tempered areas in Europe, North Africa and Asia. In Israel it can be found in the Mediterranean region from March to November.
The male is always blue on the upperside. Most of the females are brown with orange stains in the side of the wings. The color of some females is a mixture between the male show and the female show (as in this picture). In the back side, the male has orange stains only in the hind wings while the female has orange stains also in the fore wings.
Wing span: 30 - 35 m"m.
Host plants: vetches, clovers, restharrow and other plants from the leguminous family.

Hello Oz,
nice point of view to show this common blue which is often posted - but here we see a specimen from Israel. The focus on th ewing surface is just right. Nice colour and structure details.
Best wishes, peter

Hello Oz,
What a wonderful specimen of female icarus! You did a marvellous shot and show excellent details in it. I had never seen a female with so much blue. I like it very much.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
Best wishes

Hello Oz,
Another beautiful specimen, just like no. 3. This one seems to be more colorful. Background is superb and the pov is interesting. Regards,
Hakan

Hello Oz!
It is nice to see you new picture :)
Nice colouration, interesting POV showing the upper side of wings with species details and good DOF make this picture really nice. I also like the note, which is - as always, very informative.
Greetings from Poland,
Radomir

Hi ben,

A very lovely shot with such great details, i know how difficult it is to capture the colours and details on such kind of butterfly and you have done it so beautifully very well composed, lovely macro shot.

Hi Oz and nice to see you again :)

Another wonderful macro work from you and a splendid butterfly presentation.
The POV here is excellent and shows both sides of its wings well.
The details are great and the colors are terrific, nicely saturated and lighten.
Very good DOF, too, that blurres teh BG very nicely and therefore isolates your subject very well.
All-in-all: a wonderful composition.

Bravo and TFS
