Hi Master,
Anybody knows why they do that ? we say in our language Khuda meduna that Lord knows but here I can see the yellow fungus on this trunk, may it is food for these Scantius aegyptius bugs.
Well shot, this be a question in my book to find the fact, regards.

Hello Ori,
Our common firebugs have the same behaviour, they also gather like on your picture. Is it just to have warmer..?I don't know, but I'm sure there is an explanation. Pleasing picture, well taken and original subject.

An amazing gathering you have captured here.
Excellent focus and exposure on this colorful group.
Ladybugs do the same thing.
I read somewhere that it is for warmth?
Whatever the reason, it makes for a great image. : )

Hello Ori,
Interesting geometric patterns on these bugs. The image reminds me of clusters of milkweed bugs who gather to feed on the milkweed plant. I would tend to agree that they are likely feeding on the fungus.
