This is a peculiar Cistanche, it normally has yellow flowers, but this population is purplish. We found it to be parasitic on Tararix trees and Salsola shrubs.

This image is a beauty!!! Pity about the background on the left but it looks like there was nothing much you could do to avoid it. Very beautiful as is.

Very interesting plant. Recalls the great spruce cone. Amazing that grows in such an unfavorable environment in the sand. Very good composition.

nice image but i would have pulled out that blade of grass before taking it!
