This endemic species of Bush Cricket is quite common here in the springtime, feeding on a wide range of plants, such as this gorgeous Iris lortetii (see my posting of yesterday). Note the holes in the petal on the lower right. This particular specimen is a fully grown male, with a body about 20 mm long, and much longer antennae. |
