[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The yellow horned poppy is an early summer flowering plant in Israel. It belongs to the Poppy Family, Papaveraceae. It grows mostly along the Mediterranean coast, although it may be found also in the Judaean Hills. This shrub carries many yellow to orange flowerers, up to 40 mm in diameter. The fruit is the form of a long horn, reaching 20 cm in length. See WS.

While in israeli it is quite rare, it has has become a noxious weed in the US, where it was introduced.

Hello Ishi,
What a beautiful bloom you have presented to us. I don't believe I have ever seen this particular plant growing here in the US.
I like the excellent detail you have obtained, especially since it is a bright yellow orangish color. I have an extremely hard time capturing detail while photographing yellow flowers. Your choice of using an f/36 aperture resulted in outstanding DOF, as every part of the bloom is in fine focus. Great work!!
