[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While it looks lie a shrub or a shrublet, it is, in fact, a tree, most of which is growing under ground. Known as Syrian mesquite {Fabaceae], it is a relative of the the mesquite of southwest USA, known for its firewood. It is a very hardy plant that grows in a range of habitats, quite often becoming a pesky weed in the field.
