[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is almost my best picture of these kestrels that I had near my house, unfortunatly I didn't get the tip of the wing at the bottom and I was very sorry about that, however I chose to upload it because of the good details.

The Kestrel is about 33 - 39cm (13 - 15") .

Scientific name: Falco tinnunculus

Habitat: Found in a wide variety of haunts including open or lightly wooded farmland, moors, wetlands and urban areas.

Description: Female slightly larger than male. Both are brownish on the upperparts, the male being more rufous and has blue-grey head and tail. Hovers frequently and indeed, is probably most often seen hovering alongside motorway and road verges.

Excellent shot! RAP has done a good job with the Workshop too. My only suggestion is that perhaps a little low radius USM would bring out a little more feather detail. As you say, it's a shame that the wingtip was clipped, but you've captured it so well that I can't do anything less than give you two points for it :-D

As a matter of interest, how did you manage to get the underside so well lit, and get such a high shutter speed - were you using flash, or was the sun quite low? Good work whichever!

Wow! Getting such details, focus and sharpening on a flying guy is such a hard work...and this one is just wonderful Elroyie :) I even can excuse the wing incident..;)) Great image!

Elroyie
This is very sweet light on a beautiful raprtor! You can fix it with selective cloning. Gerhard did ne for Mogens on a gull n a WS this week. Very nice.

Very impressive image Elroyie so much detail, the only ateration has already been surrgested and shown to great effect. but i can under stand why you dont want alter an image so.

Great flight capture. I did really like the workshop Rap did on it as well...it gives the Kestrel more room to move and completes the shot. Your timing is super here as well with a wonderful catch light in it's eye.

Elroyie, I agree it is avery good shot. If this is your best I cannot judge ;-).I also love the workshop made by 'RAP'. I adds a lot to the picture.

This image had the workshop done by Ricardo as the 'Featured Workshop' Lucky for me as until now I had not seen this wonderful image. The POV is great. Good under side view with good exposure and detail. The blue BG compliments the image. Shame the bottom tip of the wing has been cropped. Nicely done. Thanks.

I love the pictures of flying birds. Yours is really beautiful. Colors are great.

It is too bad that just a slight piece of the wing was cut, but I know how difficult taking such a picture is.
