this is a male herd of this impressive ibex. they were almost extinct in the 50s, but since than protected and flourished. The pic was taken in Ein gedi reserve no the coast of the Dead Sea.

I would hate to have to carry those horns around all day. It makes my neck hurt! : ) I realize that this image probably has been cropped quite a bit already, and so lacks optimum resolution...but the half animal on the right side adds nothing but distraction to the composition. The subject is fascinating but the photo lacks lacks some contrast, sharpness and visual cohesion. Thanks for sharing these wonderful animals. I'm glad they have been saved. I guess occasionally humans do something to benefit nature!
