I photographed this picture few minutes before the sun set. The interesting thing was that the color of the water that gave me an excellent BG. That is the actually lighting color.

Hello Yoram
What can I say about golden color on wings,
wonderful,Perfect composition and BG,
Excellent shot.

What an awe-inspiring capture, Yoram! Looks like a scene from Tolkien's fiction in the Ring series. That golden light falling on the outstretched wings of the bird and the same light effect by way of BG makes this picture something out of this world.
Thanks for sharing this amazing picture.

wow, very nice and sharp, Toda, Ori

Hi Yoram and a warm welcome to TN

This is truely spectacular! WOW!
I really love all these colors and tones on this beautiful cormorant's plumage!
The warm evening light sure helped you into saturating the colros very well here and also gave you that terrific reflection fro the water, that go excellently as a BG.
The POV here is very interesting but great - in order to capture such a lovely pose of the bird extending it wings!
The details are also very neat and sharp, the DOF is impeccable and the composition brilliant!
Bravo for this exceptional post and thanks for sharing!

hi yoram!
very beautiful with the bird
in a great pose
sharp with fine lightning
and a very nice background
well done!

Wow..it's a great GOLDEN cormorant. Everything about this image is super. I love the sharpness of the wood and bird and the super golden out of focus background. The angle of the logs framing the cormorant makes for a very strong composition. Exposure and saturation are great too. A+

Shalom Yoram... exquisite colors to capture so well to this cormorant.

I like it a lot: composition, POV, DOF, focus, sharpness, color, lighting, background, framing and PP.

I like it: notes.

I don't like it: nothing to argue.

Great point of view and illumination to compose so interesting presentation.
Thank you and greetings... Ricardo

HI Yoram,
The water is trying to matchup with the colour on the feathers. I like the effect.

Hi Yoram,
Beautiful capture!
Very nice colors, good details .Well done and TFS,

Hello Yoram,

What a smashing photo and a great moment! The cormorant looks like a bronze statue! I love the reflections of the warm, golden sunset colors in the wet plumage (I think it was wet and the bird was drying off the feathers).
Your composition is wonderful and the blurred background just enhances the picture and makes the subject stand out. The pose of the bird is excellent and the nice profile it is showing to us is clearly readable against the golden colors in the background. The details in the plumage are also very beautifully rendered. They are not only sharp but they almost look three-dimentional because of the soft light that brings out every shape.
Good job on the exposure too! The tiny slightly overexposed areas in the wooden log are insignificant. It is more important to have a great light in shaded areas of the bird, (ie. the eyes). The precise focus and relatively large aperture at a very long focal distance resulted in a very good DOF!
An excellent photo taken at the right time! Congratulations and thank you for sharing it with us!

With Friendly Regards,

Fantastic golden lighting on this cormorant. Again both details and colors are perfect. :)

Metal Cormorant Yoram.
Excellent shot. Great atmosphere. Very well done. tfs. Stev

Hi Yoram,
Outstanding image here!
The dominant golden tones are really impressive.
I like so much the POV and the pose of the bird catched.
It's an image with a lot of visual impact.
Congratulations and thanks for share.
My best regards,

Very good shot of this Great Cormorant. With the sunlight you can see the detail in the bird. Not gonna find much better a shot of one of these. All the yellow tones inculding under the eye come together in this splendidly. Well shot and good timing. TFS Trevor
