Black Iris
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
While on a self drive tour of Jordan, we were hoping to come across black irises growing wild. They flower in the spring but noone could tell us where we would definitely see them. These were found growing at the side of the road, as we drove from Mt Nebo to Karak. I find that the iris is a very difficult flower to photograph to demonstrate its beauty. I tried a number of diferent shots. We got lots of hooting from the pasing truck drivers as we knelt in the dirt at the side of the road, trying to get the best photo! The black iris is the national flower of Jordan.
I have cropped the image. |

Good macro, nice light, DOF. I would like to reduce the brightness and increase the Contrast abit.

Hi Karen,
This is a truly magnificent flower. Good details and I like the way the light goes through the upper area of the flower.
AS you said - it is not an easy subject.
