Photo taken in Tyre Coast Nature Reserve in South-Lebanon. This plant is part of a quite dense dune vegetation.

Hello Betty
This is a rather fierce looking plant, no doubt it helps to ward off attacks by sheep and goats.
I quite like your composition and colours. Your narrow DOF seems focussed on the spiines, making the flower appear even more dangerous :)
