Trithemis aurora Male II

Friends, today I am posting yet another picture of a male Trithemis aurora for your viewing. I feel I have done fairly well in this shot, though you would be the best to judge that.

I shot this picture in the natural daylight which is generally pretty strong at about 1 p.m. here in the desert. I tried ISO speed 200, which seemed to work rather well under the circumstances.

Converted from RAW into jpeg, treated for BG noise with NeatImage, resized and then cropped for TN.

For details on the ID of this dragonfly, please look at one of my previous pictures of it here.

Thanks and regards to all.

Hi Ram

An excellent shot with great DOF and colours. The BG helps bring out the colours of the insect.

I am still awaitingthe arrival of my macro lense.

James

Hello Ram,
Nice POV, colours, lighting and exposure. wish you could stopped down for more DOF, agreed it is difficult to get bith wings in focus when working close to subject with the 105mm macro.
TFS, Anil

Hi Ram
a nice picture with good compostion and POV.
The DOF is a bit shallow, you could have use f8, you had room for it, 1/400sec. The details are fine in the head and body.
Why use NI ISO 200, I don't think your camera will show any noise att that ISO, instead the NI will destroy the fine details.
I like the nice colours too.
Well done.

Hello Sir,
This one is really good.Very good focus, colours and details.I especially liked the way you have cropped the image with the fly in a diagonal position. TFs,
Smitha.

Hi Ram,

I really enjoy these shots.
The colours are beautiful and the texture brought out so well in your photography is quite exquisite.

Hi Ram,
Wonderful shot of this dragonfly. You caught it in a very dramatic pose. Lovely colours and very neat and sharp image. Perfect light management considering the harsh sunlight there. Excellent POV to portray the fly and a precise DOF. The green BG outlines the habitat pretty well. I like the diagonal composition. Kudos.
TFS.

Hi Ram,
Certainly this is a great picture!
I like so much your POV and the pose of the insect catched.
The composition made here is so good...very dynamic and with rythm on it.
I'm not pretty used with Neat Image, but I can see a little "texture" on the background...it's like very small dots, like in certain way, makes a very interesing graphic aspect, but don't supress the noise at all.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

ahhhh Purple on green. The reverse is what I just saw in Angy's shot. A good combination of colors makes some of these dragonfly pictures stick out. We are fortunate to have people as close to nature as you. My pictures are a much broader brush and I suppose that is what the creator wanted in me...because I can not get close to a particular species without them running or flying away quickly. So you portray an art form combined with a closeness and understanding of the heart of nature.

Hello Ram,
Another very beautiful capture of this dragonfly in a charming pose. I like it when they put their tails upwards!! Great sharpness and very beautiful colours. Even though the light background is a little disturbing the sharpness of the dragonfly makes it stand out really well.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Ram

This is indeed a splendid macro shot from you! You really nailed it here with the focus and the exposure and that resulted in a very well balanced picture of this beautiful dragonfly.
The details are very sharp, the colors are gorgeous and the side POV also gave you plenty of BG clearance in order to isolate your subject well here.
A charming composition.

Bravo and TFS

Hello Ram,
You are right to be satisfied with this shot of T. aurora: its sharp, well composed, with good lighting, good natural colours and excellent BG. You might have tried a smaller aperture, but that would have been at the cost of the shutterspeed and I know that I would have done as you did.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Ram,
amazing colours on this beautiful dragonfly.
Excellant DOF and POV.
Well done,

Hi Ram,
I liked the colors in this picture. As anil said i suggest you use anywhere between F-8 and F11 and find out which gives you the best result with that lens. There is slight noise in the picture!

Dear Ram,
magnificent painting of light. Excellent composition. Presentation looks equally subtle, and very powerful. Impressed by the technical and distinctly artistical qualities of this beautiful image.
Surprisingly green places you are showing us here from the Arabian desert. You seem to have discovered a Garden Eden. Thank you for letting us look into that place! With best regards,
Peter
