[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In the early days of my Nikon DSLR experience, I had the good fortune of having this species of dragonflies landing for a short while in the small patch of garden we had in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was a male-female pair and both of them had posed for me patiently. Needless to say, I had posted picture after picture of these dragonflies.
My inability to shoot regularly has impelled me to dig up my archives, so when I noticed that I had not posted this particular shot, I decided to give it a try. Though this was not one of my best, I decided to show a close-up view of head, thorax and wings of this male. Hope you do not find it disgusting. Apparently, the picture has been heavily cropped.
This is for old times' sake, so thanks if you decide to stop by.

Hello neighbour Ram,
A dragonfly in splendid colours. It contrasts beautiful against the green BG. Good sharpness and an excellent composition.

Hello Ram,
Normally I'm not an amateur of very tight close-ups. But if colors and patterns make an interesting composition, I can appreciate them. What I like here the best is the beautiful color-palette and the sparkling of the wings of this dragonfly from Saudi Arabia. An artistical posting. Thanks a lot.
Take care

Hi Ram,
you captured a wonderful dragon - also the name "Aurora" is special - dragon of dawn - I love it.
So many sharp and impressive details, thanks, very well done

Hallo Ram
The colour and appearance of this dragonfly's thorax reminds me of ripe purplish grapes and I am sure my comparison is laughable but to me it is very much so. The details you captured of the upper body of this dragonfly is great and very well seen. It is lovely to see the different segments and patterns on the back. Further to that the shine of the eyes and wings are striking and the colouring beautiful. A great macro from your archive. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

Hi Ram!

It was a good idea to grab this picture out of your archives! it's worth a posting, because it simply is beautiful! On one hand, I'm delighted by colour contrasts, on the other hand, I'm impressed by the details and the delicate shapes of the wings.

Many thanks and kind regards

Hi Ram

Oh, terrible shot. The Riyadh shoebox should remain sealed before we start seeing
all those cockroaches and flies again too…

Ha, I am sure I had you going there for a moment (chuckle). No my friend, I am only
pulling your leg, because I don't know why you should be so critical of your own work
saying something like: "Hope you do not find it disgusting". For sure, it was captured
during the learning phase you gone through with your then new equipment, but apart
from a little bit of noise in the BG and maybe a slightly limited DOF, there is nothing
much amiss with this image. The thorax, part of the body, the eyes, and especially the
left wings shows wonderful and sharp details. While the right wings are maybe not as
sharp, but that area has lightened up with the beautiful luminous patches. The OOF &
isolated BG also played its part to enhance this close-up image of the Dawn Dropwing.

Well done and TFS.
Have a great week MF.

Bonjour Ram
Grande netteté et très belle présentation de cette libellule. La texture des ailes est magnifique.C'est une magnifique macro
Bonne journée et amitiés...JP

Dear Ram Sir,
Beautiful macro capture of the T aurora with excellent color tones. Some how, I have found them very intriguing whether one sees their various developmental stages from larva to an adult or the aerodynamic shape of a chopper. TFS
