The swarm of bees that came to my garden here in Riyadh a couple of months ago and built a beehive on the branch of a fig tree is well settled now. The hive has grown bigger though the flowers in the garden have dwindled away in the intense summer heat except for a few mimosa plants still producing tiny blooms valiantly.
The bees have got so used to me pottering around them I went close to the hive a few days ago and took pictures to my heart's content. I even blew at the hive to displace some bees and see if they had collected some honey already. Who knows I might decide to partake of it sometime later :-) ?
This time I have named my little friends THE ORANGE ARMY.
Thanks for looking.

Great shot ! All these bees are forming a wonderful pattern of orange and white. Good details and colors, nice composition, I like it that we see nothing more than just the bees, no BG, very good. Well done !
Valérie.

Hi Ram
Wow, what an impressive POV of this threatening, although (from your notes) a seemingly docile army. Have you counted them yet?
I like the frame filling shot that gives a sense of how great is the number of bees present. The colours and details are stunning and the exposure was well managed.
Very well done and TFS.

Hi, Ram!
A very interesting photo about bee life! People have spoken me about these swarms, but I see it for the fist time. The focus and colors are very good and show that these bees are as you call them orange, while in my country they are yellow.
Nice show! Thanks!
Anton

This has made a fascinating composition, Ram. Very abstract looking.
Don't get stung!
Yours,
Andrew.

Great composition. U did a nice texture with bees. Congrats

Certanly not a thing you see every day, amazing view and great photo, sharp and detailed, thanks for sharing this with us!

Hello Ram, Hope you well. This is quite a shot. Not sure if I would have the nerves to approach them that close. Well done anyway, the detail is good and I am sure your used to such large hives around where you live. Nice work.

Hello Ram,
No these are certainly not Solitary! Neither are they the same species as the European Honey bee. But they do resemble the bee in your Saudi Arabian compound. So, as you say, we'll leave it open and I must say that this is a mighty capture!
TFS and referring me to this shot.
Take care, Ivan
