[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a break of one year, I visited my second hometown, İzmir where I finished all university education and so I stayed in there for ten years.
But in this time, Mustafa Sözen (spalaxtr) came with me and we visited İzmir Bird Paradisea "Gediz Delta" for two days.
It was very rainy in the first day. In early morning of second day was not rainy, but was closed with dark clouds. In first step of out of the city, we saw some Gallinula chloropus - Sutavuğu, Yeşilayaklı Sutavuğu [TR], Moorhen [EN] (GRUIFORMES: RALLIDAE). They came out from reed beds to our road. They looked for some edible things. From the car window, we took many photographes of these birds for you. You see one of them with today's post.
I hope you will like it.
I like to be interested in Latin names and therefore I add species name's ethymology just below.
Thanks for visiting.

Derivatio nominis: Gallinula comes from the Greek words, gallus, meaning "hen, chicken" and "-ula [-ella]" is a diminutive subfix and the genus name shows "little hen"; and also chloropus refers to its greenish feet; "chloro": "green" and "pus" or "pedes": foot.

Hello Ahmet,
A good shot of this Gallinule from an excellent low POV.
This is very similar to our New Zealand Swamphen,or Rail, usually known by the Maori name,Pukeko.
Its scientific name is Porphyrio porphyrio melanotus but is also known as the Purple Gallinule or Purple Swamphen.
You can see that one Here

Hello Ahmet,
what a beautiful capture, this Moorhen is very colorful and
sharp... Well done

A beautiful Moorhen captured under favourable diffused daylight illumination Ahmet, its dark colouration is perfectly reproduced here and the sharp image displays its plumage features rather nicely. TFS and cheers,

Hi Ahmet,

I have never seen a Moorhen - only in pictures. I love the red and yellow beak and the wonderful shadings of the feathers. A wonderful close-up with a good pose, nice details, and background.
