[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
From my Turkey travels:
Emli vadisi is spectacular, the valley digs itself into the heart of the Ala dağları (= mountains), a "Milli parkı"(=National Park). To the right, hidden in the background you see Kaldi dağ (3'736 m a.s.l.), to the left it is Gürtepe dağ (3'630 m). You can look up "Map" for more details.

Sorry for the postcard type picture, but isn't it beautiful :-) . I am quite at loss to explain the geology of the mountain range which sets off to the North of the Toros mountain chain. I noticed volcanic tufa but also karstic limestone. The town closest to Ala dağları is Niğde, home of our TN friend Ahmet (rousettus).

My compact camera (needed for its light weight because I travelled on a bicycle) was a Lumix GF-1, it does take pictures in RAW. I sharpened twice before and after size reduction by 25% and 1 pixel.
