Ardea cinerea Linnaeus, 1758 - Gri balıkçıl [TR], Grey Heron [EN] is a member of the family Ardeidae of the order Ciconiiformes. It is a large heron, standing 85-105 cm tall and its wingspan 175-195 cm.
It occurs throughout temperate Europe and Asia and also parts of Africa.
A. cinerea is the most common heron and egret species in Akkaya (Lakelet) International Bird Area. Its conservation status is listed by IUCN as Least Concern (LC).
It breeds in colonies in trees close to lakes, the sea-shore or other wetlands, although it will also nest in reed beds. It builds a bulky stick nest.
The bird catches fish or frogs with its long bill in shallow water.
The nominate form, A. c. cinerea Linnaeus, 1758, is one of its four subspecies ranges also in Turkiye.

The photograph was taken very cloudy weather condition before rain Nigde Univ. Campus near Akkaya Lakelet. Maybe it is a bit dark. Focused on eyes.

This is a nice composition Ahmet,

The background suits the natural pose.
I'm not sure about the flash, or at least it looks like flash. It has a slightly stark feel.
However, detail is fine and clarity very good.

nice expresion on the bird but the colors are a little dark and washed out, could try increasing contrast. focus is a little soft.

Nice capture here, i agree with the comments so far but I am amazed with how close you have managed to get this shot in. Well done.

Great close-up of Gray Heron. It's a nice profile with exceptional details of eye, beak, and details in feathers. Your perfect exposure gave very good colors.
