[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After break of two and half years, we drived to Giresun, which is Ahmet's hometown and we stopped near Tamdere for looking at very beautiful landscape in details. We found many interesting objects for photography. One of them is (Leptophyes punctatissima (Bosc, 1792) - Benekli Çalı Çekirgesi [TR], Speckled Bush Cricket [EN] with "sword-like" ovipositor and it was lying its eggs on a composit flowers. It was rainy. But it went on its activity. I cropped its long antennae for showing details. I hope you will like it.
Many thanks to Ivan Kruys (Argus) for identification.
best wishes

Merhaba Aysegul,
A fine and interesting capture of a Bush Cricket. The long antennae tell us that this is not a grasshopper.
She is not laying her eggs but she is picking up the sperms from a sperm packet left by a male that was attracted to her. When her eggs are fertilised she will use her curved ovipositor to push each egg into the soil.
Though the sharpness is a bit soft this is a fine macro taken from a great POV and shows a female Speckled Bush cricket (Leptophyes punctatissima)
I guess you must be related to our friend Ahmet!
