Blue crab (Callinectes sapidus, Portunidae) from near Iztuzu (Dalyan Beach), with characteristic blue exoskeleton.

Guide told me, that it is an endangered species, occurring only near beach of Dalyan, and their numbers have decreased greatly year by year. Nice story, but untrue. You know, guides...

In fact, I've found later in the net, that these blue crabs are not native to Turkey (and the whole Mediterranean Sea region), they have come from America with ballast water from ships. So, it is here an alien and introduced species, rather unneeded. Now, I regret I did not eat grilled one -- crabs are sold on tourist boats for a few Turkish lires only.
