Hello, this photo was taken on last saturday at my fathers garden;).Before I wasn’t TN member I didnt endure to see such scanes , but now I’m getting excited for showing such events to you. This was not a funny shot, but a part of wildlife.I think it was a wolf spider. Have a nice and sunny week and hope you will like it.

Wolf spider
Infos from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Wolf spiders
Burrowing wolf spider defending its egg sac
Scientific classification
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Arachnida
Order: Araneae
Family: Lycosidae

Genera
ArctosaGeolycosaLycosaPardosaPirataRabidosaSosippus
Wolf spiders are members of the family Lycosidae. Except for the genus Sosippus, these spiders do not use their silk to make a snare. Some use their silk to line a tubular tunnel in the ground. Some take regular shelter in natural crevices. Still others spend their entire lives wandering around with no fixed abode. Unlike many other spiders, they have good vision and run their prey down.
Wolf spiders are made easier to spot because the females carry their eggs along with them in a spherical silk bag which is attached to their spinnerets. After the eggs hatch the large numbers of tiny spiders climb onto the mother's abdomen and are carried about for a considerable time

Hello Sebnem, excellent photo. It's not a wolf spider - I'm pretty certain that it belongs to the genus Agelena, there a are two species in Europe. I'm not going to guess the species here as I'm not sure what species are in your area and I dod not know enough about this genus.

I do like the shot, very much. It's an excellent capture of an any defending itself- it appears that the ant amy be spraying the spider with formic acid...I bet the ant got away?

Very nice work, I love these action shots. Thansk for posting.

Hello Sebnem

Great picture indeed
I agreed with PDP regarding the fact that it is not likely a wolf spider but more likely an Agnela like this

Wolf:

Hi Sebnem,

Lovely action capture. The results are impressive with the TC and tubes. I will love to try this combination out sometime. If I may nit pick I would suggest placing the subject a bit more left leaving more space to the right. It's a minor nit though.

Great sharpness on the head of the spider and nice soft lighting on the image. Framing and the slightly diagonal pose of the spider make this an interesting photo. Very well done!

What a wonderful shot!!!!!! *I can never get cler closeups like this! A bit gruesome, but thats life!

Sebnem, very nice capture. As you said: just part of the natural cycle. Superb DOF. Personally I have problems to get a close up like this. My camera does focus on the middle and the rest of the image gets blurry when I use macro shots.. On the other hand you got the complete image focused. Got to learn how to do that. Also de ant provides a pretty good idea of the scale!! Congrats and will be back to see the rest of your gallery. Greetings from Bolivia, Gabriel

I guess this has been 1-0 for the spider. congratulation for this unusual pic. Very interesting. POV and composition are 1st class. Very interesting to see that the ant is facing instead of running away. Ants can bite very bad, but it seems hopeless in this present case.
