Hi friends! I’ve just returned to Izmir from the highlands (around 2000 m asl) of Antalya (Çığlıkara, Elmalı & Sarıkaya, Finike), today I would like to share some shots from Sarıkaya Nature Reserve. With the early morning light I noticed three wild goat beauties while feeding near the Oluklu Yaylasi (Grooved plateau) (see attached WS-1). The way of light unfortunately was opposite and I had to waited approx. 2 hours to take more proper shot. At last, I saw a beauty on precipice. I have to be honest that I was really afraid of being on the edge of the precipice:) However, I always love wild goats and also wild sheep since i feel them close me:) in their stance to life... haha.. i think this is stemning from my sign of the Zodiac, Capricorn.

And today I would like to give a special present to one of my beloved friend on TN since she is also a Capricorn like me:)) hehe… Yes! Ingrid (ingridshaul) this is for you MF! I am pretty sure that you also love this lady wild goat while climbing on the precipitous slope. I also attached another WS of the same beauty. I am not sure exactly but i think this is the 1st post of the species/also 1st shot from Turkey!

The Bezoar Ibex (in Turk. Yabankeçisi) (Capra aegagrus aegagrus) is a vulnerable wild goat, native to Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia and Turkey. It has been extirpated from Lebanon. It is found in the mountains of Anatolia and across the Middle East. It is also found on some Aegean Islands and in Crete where it is accepted that the goats constitute relict populations of very early domestic animals that were taken to the Mediterranean islands during the prehistoric period and now live as feral populations. The Bezoar goat, if not the sole progenitor of the modern domestic goat, was at least its main progenitor.

You can find detailed info on the species from the following links:

1. Wikipedia.
2. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

TFL and have a nice Sunday!

Merhaba Bayram hocam,

Mehmet.

Ciao BBB and welcome back again! A dangerous - I think - POV for this spectacular dynamic and wild capture. Amazing playing of light and beautiful natural colours. Wery well done MF.

I hope you had a successful trip to Antalya!
A very fine capture of this species of Capra, that can also be called Bezoar Goat.
The POV and pose on the rocky slope are great and taken with excellent sharpness and lighting so that it is well seen against its natural habitat BG.
Thanks and have a good week MF,
Ivan

Hi Bayram!

It's fine to notice that your photographical palette does also contain other species than the ones you usually present. This wild goat is very beautiful and you show it in a very attractive and natural environment.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Bayram,
A very nice dedication to our friend Ingrid, who is very occupied at the moment, but she will be of course delighted, when she will see it. You know a lot aboutTN- people, even the zodiacal sign :-)!
About the picture: the point of view is very special and impressive. Very natural picture, difficult to make, and a most beautiful natural surrounding. Bravo again!
Motherly regards
Anne

Hallo MF Bayram,
what a fantastic portrait of the Bezoar Ibex taken from an excellent POV in a very beautiful environment, superb sharpness and marvellous natural colours, very well done.

Best regards

Merhaba Bayram dostum,
I thank you with all my heart for this very special dedication! çok teşekkür ederim!

I like the picture very much!

This was a real'quicky' 1/1000 sec! This photo as well as the workshop are wonderfully sharp - and they offer so many detail - you must be as light-footed as the Ibex :-)you climb around on these treacherous, rolling stones, which the Ibex appear to like a habitat...

I have observed them in the Valais (Anne Gatlen's habitat) as well as at the Dead Seaand the behaviour is very interesting. When the males fight - with big thuds connecting their foreheads - one wonders how they remain upright with their slim legs!?!

Antelopes in South Africa have always dark eyes, whereas this beautiful Lady has yellow eyes!

Like in all your work - rhe natural colours are a special bonus.

Thanks again for this beautiful photo and thank you also for your very special friendship

Selam ve sevgiler...
Ingrid
