[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Laudakia stellio (Dikenli Keler)

It has a size of approximately 35cm, half of which is tail. They feed mostly on insects. During mating season males move their heads up and down, this behavior causes superstitious people to kill them.

It was resting in an ancient tomb from Byzantine era city of Hierapolis. (http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/485)

Hello Ali,
Lizards always fascinate me, because we don't have any living in my region of Ohio. I like this heads on presentation and the curious look it has on it's face. I also have viewed lizards in the western states doing the up and down body movement. They always reming me of athletes doing push-ups. Great capture!!

Hallo Ali
I just like the way this guy looks you straight in the eye, and the almost curious expression on its face is just great. The clarity of its scales and the nails on its paws is super. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.
Anna
