|Microtus lydius (West Anatolian vole)|
Some papers indicate the vole in western Anatolia as Microtus guentheri, however, our longtherm studies show that M. gunetheri doesn not cross the Anatolian diagonal barrtier toward the west and western side of the diagonal is occupied by M. lydius. So this specimen belongs to M. lydius. We checked karyologically the population in which this specimen taken, and found that diploid chromosome number is 2n= 54 as for M. lydius.
