Dalmatian pelican - Pelecanus crispus - Tepeli pelikan
South Gediz Delta is an important feeding area for this species. The Dalmation Pelican is a globally threatended species . Their presence is one of the main reasons for Gediz Delta being declared as an IBA where currently there are 35 breeding pairs. Their feather colour is dirty white. During the breeding season feathers become crowned and curled. Their eye color is bright yellow and the skin around the eyes is purple. Thier bladder colour is orange and their legs are grey. They have throaty call. They nest in colonies in areas along fresh and saline lakes, bogs, and shallow sea shores. Its height is 160-180 cm, wing span 284-292 cm.
