[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Canadian Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio canadensis) is a species of the Papilionidae family. This image was a result of a wind gust that blew this butterfly off it's prototypical feeding position of wings straddling flower. As it was recovering and adjusting it's wings, I managed to get this snap shot off. Locally, this of our largest Lepidoptera species with a wingspan between 67 to 80 mm. This time of year the sky is yellow-filled from the wild wings of this colorful insect.

Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Papilionidae
Tribe: Papilionini
Genus: Papilio
Species: P. canadensis

Wonderful image full of color and good sharpness

Hi Derek,

The flower is helping to frame the butterfly. The point of view is showing the details and colours of the Canadian Tiger butterfly. The good luminosity is enhancing the colours. Have a nice day.
