Please take some Gravol tablets before attempting to photograph these birds ... because their speedy dipping & diving will almost certainly cause some momentary bouts of nauseousness without. It has been clocked at speed upto 389 km/h (242 mph) and is the world's most widespread raptor.

The Peregrine Falcon is an amazing and threatened raptor that was almost completely wiped in the 1960s due to that nasty DDT usage.

Hello Derek,
You are correct about the speed of these beautiful little raptors, they are like speeding bullets. I have only viewed a few of these birds in my life, and one was up at the stadium during a Cleveland Indians baseball game.
They have certainly (as you stated) started to make a comeback, since they literally were almost wiped out in the 60's.
Love the wonderful detail you managed to capture on this particular shot. I'm sure you were a bit dizzy afterwards:)
