This handsome male Cardinal was perched in a tree near a platform feeder in the parking lot of my apartment building.
As luck would have it, I had the D80 and 18-200VR lens signed out (actually being returned that day). I drove by slowly and managed to quietly get out of the car and snap off about a dozen shots. This was the only shot worth keeping as the rest had his head in the shade. It didn't stay long and flew off after only a few moments. This is heavily cropped. |

Hello Lissa,
I was watching a male Cardinal today outside my apartment, he was on the roof of a truck looking at his reflection and leaping about like a madman, obviously hadn't seen it before. Very funny to watch :-) A nice image, great colours but it looks like the focus is on the branches rather than the Cardinal. Nice image though and a beautiful bird.
Regards,
Adrian
Hi Lissa
You again prove the point, males are better looking :-)!
