|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|An unexpected moment this morning while photographing flowers in my garden. I was suprised by this Great Blue Heron just appearing over my head about 12 feet away. I swung the camera up and hoped the auto focus would catch it. I have cropped out the trees (all blurred) and just given you the essential moment.|

Welcome on TN Christopher.
Very nice first post and in perfect composition. The colours of the heron looks very natural. It is a little soft in focus and also you missed some details in the underwings. I think if you had used 1/500 or 1/800 and overexposed with 0.3 or 0.7 it would have improved the picture. You also have some dots in the picture (in front of the heron and behind the wings) which easily could be cloned out in Photo Shop or a similar software. But all over a nice picture.
