[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I didn't know that turtles could live here, wild and free! I was driving between LaPrairie and St-Jean-sur-Richelieu when I saw this turtle on the border of the road. After I made a U-turn, she had crossed that road and the drivers were braking to let her go her way. When I came back, she was going down in a ditch and I was not in a good position but I took the picture anyway to share it on TN. We see her angry, on defence with open jaws and it's paradoxical how these jaws can be quick in a matter of self-defence! Her shell was 25-30 cm. long and she is vegetarian as a land species.

Hi Gilles,
What a great shot of our native Canadian turtle. I can't blame the turtle for being frightened, I would be too if I had to get through traffic :) Composition and details are great. Janice
