The pof and the dof are great and I like the angle you took the shot, very good job you did
I like the little one hiding under the umbrella look. Nice details and color. So with the DOF and POV. Maybe you should drop Felipe (extramundi) a line to help with the ID. Nice shot.
I think this is a Lactarius.
About species growing in Europe, it is like Lactarius rufus (Scopoli 1772) Fries 1838, the only one with so umbonate cap.
I don't know if in Canada there are others similar species.
