hello friends,

after « The Snowy Owl like an Angel » one of my best shots

today i present you
« The Snowy Ghost » one of my « not » best shots

after showing this image by e-mail to Jane (jaycee) and having
her opinion about this shot if it is « TNable » or not,
i decide to post this image, and i told to Jane, i decided to post it
because i love the title that i decide to give it « The Snowy Ghost »,
because in this image he looks like a GHOST,

this image was shot exactly 15 seconds
after the one i posted yesterday, i was waiting that
the Snowy Owl he will took his flight, but in my mind
it was in opposite side that he will flight

he took me completaly by surprise when he come to me
and at that moment i was very afraid (j'ai eu peur),
he looked to me, i shot my image, and he continu
his flight at my left side (his right side)

this shot was completaly missed, off focus,
i was with a bad luminosity, but with Photoshop,
with Auto Contrast, then Levels, then Exposure,
then noise removal and then big sharpness i get this image

because the image is not a big succes, instead of posting it
in 800X533 pixels, i decide to post it in 660X440 pixels

i hope you will love this image even if it is not one of my best,
photo shot with my small P&S digital compact Nikon Coolpix P60

about the Snowy Owl

after searching on internet about
« Snowy Ghost », i found this link

well if i will do another in-flight shot of the Snowy Owl
i will gived as title « Silent Ghost »

from last winter, i have 2 shots of the Snowy Owl
in their takeoff that i did'nt post yet in TN

Hi Asbed,

I think I would call this the "Smiling Ghost." He seems to have a big smile on his face. I think you did a good job of salvaging this shot. You captured him in a wonderful position - I love the semi-circle created by the wings and his head right in the center. I also like the composition with the owl on the side.

Hello Asbed.
Wow! great capture, what a fantastic face, he really does look like a ghost.

Wonderful capture of such a beautiful bird Asbed!!
I love the shot even though it may not be technically perfect as you stated, you made a wise choice in posting it.
Some images are special because of what you see in them, and the story behind how you obtained it. Well done!!! TFS.
One of my favorites is of a partial albino Red-tailed Hawk that I've been trying to capture on film for two and a half years now. Even though the shot is not the greatest, it is still one of my prized photos.

It's a great capture Asbed... You got a picture of a snowy owl in flight!!!!!! I love how you positioned it in the frame. The gradated blue sky is lovely. I love the way the owl has turned his head to look at you. And... I love your story!!

Hello Asbed,
Though technically not as good as your previous of the Snowy Owl, I like this frontal flight POV and the composition with the lightest part of the sky creating an artistic balance. The title suits the ghost-like appearnce of the owl in this image, which is unusual and appealing.
Thanks for sharing it,

Hello My Friend,
A very good title as these like all owls in flight are silent.
The placement of the snowy in the image is great. You SURE like in flights Asbed, good job my friend.

Merci Michel

I saw it before bed and was so tired I could hardly type..A fie image worthy of words written while awake Asbed. I am glad you have gotten over the last small problem..I have some personal email from IB....perhaps I will share with some...and thanks for your fine post sir!

Ciao Asbed,
fantastica e spettacolare cattura di gufo delle nevi, un rapace notturno che mi affascina, eccellenti momento di cattura e POV dal basso per una bellissima composizione, ottima definizione, belli e naturali i colori, buon controllo del controluce.

Nice shot Asbed, I like the head-on POV and birds pose here..
We are supposed to have owls here too, but darned if I've ever seen one around.

Ciao Asbed, fantastic flying Owl with splendid details and wonderful sharpness, I like a lot, ciao Silvio
