hello freinds, today i am posting my last
small bird in-flight photo from my archives,
after this photo i have no more other small
birds in-flights shots and in late december
early january i'll start my new in-flight shots

to tell the truth i still have in-flight photos
of small birds that i have never posted :
Common Redpoll, Song Sparrow,
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Spotted Sandpiper,
Blue Jay, but they are not TNable to be
posted here, i am keeping for me

for this photo shot with my Nikon point & shoot
i did not have choice to give a little blur
at the background to remove the noise,
and still it is noisy, but it shot with a compact

from All About Birds website :

« Habitat
Breeds on rocky tundra. Winters in open weedy and
grassy fields and along shores of lakes and oceans.

Although breeding and nonbreeding males look quite
different, the Snow Bunting has only one molt each year
and no true "Alternate Plumage." After the molt in the
late summer the male looks brownish with a brown and
black striped back. Underneath the colored feather tips,
the back feathers are pure black and the body feathers
all are white. The male wears off all of the feather tips
by actively rubbing them on snow, and he is immaculate
white and jet black by the time breeding begins. »

Bonjour Asbed,

Le flou de l'arrière-plan met l'oiseau en évidence. La prise de vue en suivi permet de voir les détails et les couleurs du bruant des neiges en vol. L'intensité de la lumière fait ressortir les couleurs. Bon weekend.

Ciao Asbed, beautiful bird against a fantastic blurry winter landscape, splendid composition, very well done, have a good week end, ciao Silvio

At first view I believed that the winter already came to Canada! But fortunatelly the photo was taken last year, not during present days :) Nice composition and very good panoramic view Asbed. I like the moment presented on this photo - bird looks really nice during flight. Only I think would be a little better - I believe that presenting bird not on the border of white snow and black/dark line of forest would be better. But of course I know that it is easy to say something like that, in the field often there is no chance to take the second shot :)
TFS and have a nice weekend!

Hello Asbed,
About a hundred years ago There was a Swedish painter called Bruno Liljefors. His nature paintings of birds, foxes and other wildlife often showed this kind of lighting. The timing of this flying Snow Bunting is superb and the quality is to me like one of Liljefors' paintings.
Well done and thanks!
Have a nice Sunday,

What a lovely shot, my friend Asbed!
And I love the perfect PP work!

Bonjour Asbed !

It is the photographer that creates these beauties; not your cameras... small or large.
This is a beautiful PANORAMIC view of the COLD Canadian December landscape.
Great notes.
Mario from Calgary with greetings.
