hello friends, wanting to post in-flight photos
but not having new ones i went to see what
i have in my archives, here is one from 2008,
that day i did 164 shots on the Snow Buntings
in-flight for only between 5 to 10 good photos,
and it is that day with the 164 shots that
i really had the passion for in-flight photos

please friends in your critiques take
in consideration that this photos was
shot with a compact camera at the sunset
hours (afternoon in december) of the day

from the All About Birds website

« Appropriately named, the Snow Bunting
is a bird of the high Arctic and snowy
winter fields. Even on a warm day,
the mostly white plumage of a bunting
flock evokes the image of a snowstorm.

The male Snow Bunting returns to its
high Arctic breeding grounds in early April,
when temperatures can still dip as low
as -30° C (-22° F) and snow still covers
most of the ground. The female does not
return until four to six weeks later. »

Merci

Asbed

Salut Asbed, une merveilleuse et chaude lumiere pour des couleurs super sur les 2 oiseaux, assi la nettete' et le focus sont excellents, tres bon travail mon ami,mes compliments et bonne journee',Luciano

Well as usually considering the fact that you have used a small camera with only 5xZoom, I think the result is quite good friend Asbed! How are you? I also think that we often are showing too much of the subject and ignoring the natural environment. So, in topically Asbed fashion, a classical presentation of a wonderful Snow Buntings in flight! Bravo!

George Veltchev

Hello Asbed,
Clever of you to focus in so well on these tiny birds in flight!
Good timing too and beautiful light against the blue sky.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Asbed,
you did more than well here , not easy to take in-flight shot
of these small birds with a DSRL but you do it with a small compact digi, I'm amazed.
The picture is decent sharp so we clearly can see these snow buntings.
Well done, mf.
ayez un week-end agréable

Gert

Hi Asbed

It is really nice to see where and when your passion for birds-in-flight photography was
born. This speaks volumes on how someone with a little 5x zoom, point & shoot camera
can turn from a casual photographer into a passionate nature photographer. Although your
equipment is still an inhibiting factor one cannot help but to have great admiration for your
"never say die" attitude. You keep on trying, sometimes with greater success than other
times, but you keep on working at it and always try to improve, given the known limitations
of your hardware. Keep on working at it MF and who knows when Santa might deliver that
camera of your dreams.

Well done and TFS.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Regards
Loot

Footnote:
During this time of year the commercialised words "Peace & Goodwill" always gets blown
out or proclaimed in a superfluous plethora of advertisements, catalogues and billboards
by the mass media, radio and TV. Wherever one looks or listens you get blasted with
this notion, but spare a moment in your thoughts and prayers to the ill-fated realities of
those less fortunate. Those that are living in war torn countries, those whose lives were
disrupted by natural catastrophes, those that do not have enough food on the table,
those who are removed from friends and family, those who do not have the privilege of
love and laughter in their lives.

FAITH makes all things possible
LOVE makes all things BEAUTIFUL,
It is my whish that you will have all three of these in abundance for this Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a wonderful New Year!

Bonjour Asbed

Pierre

Hello Asbed.
Excellent shot of these pair gracefully captured in flight. The spotless sky is fabulous and I like the wings pattern in action.
Thanks and kind regards - Jusni

Hello Asbed,
We had -23 this morning and we're nearly snowed in.
Fine in-flight of these two Snow Buntings. I like the lighting and both birds are seen with fine sharpness and natural colours.
Thanks and best wishes for Christmas and 2011!

Hello Asbed,
very lively capture with the birds well seen in exciting pose and action. The tips of brown on the wings make it well seen against the soft blue background.
Very fast action from you and the view is so exciting.
Very well done.

Foozi

Hello Asbed,
Snow Buntings are exceptionally beautiful birds, and to be able to capture them in-flight like this is amazing. I have tried capturing in-flight images on small birds in the past and I must agree with you, it is extremely difficult. Great work!!

Con tu típico estilo. Esta vez plasmando una pareja con una dificultad
evidente para el fotógrafo que supiste resolver bien en gran medida.
