Falconry - Harris's Hawk
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|Hello friends, yesterday I saw in demonstration of falconry|
2 birds of prey, Harris's Hawk was the second bird of prey
of that falconer, under his claws there is a chukar partridge.
After having done the attack and catch his prey,
the falconer allowed me to approach and shoot photos
from very close distance, but when was the attacking
demonstration I was to stay far from the action.
1/800s f/5.6 ISO1600 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).
The reason why ISO1600 it is because it was a poor light
to go with a lower ISO like 100, 200, or 400, and my
lens does not have image stabilizer, so with going
at ISO1600 I had light and a good shutter speed of 1/800s.
« A handsome hawk of the arid Southwest, the Harris's Hawk
hunts cooperatively in pairs or trios. The hawks surround
their prey, flush it for another to catch, or take turns chasing it. »

Beautiful colored Hawk...Well captured from close. But it wasn't as close as your previous bird. Natural color and good details. Good work.....
Thanks for sharing with useful NOTE,

What a beautiful raptor you have presented in this shot. The plumage is quite attractive with those red shoulders patches against chocolate brown wing and body feathers. I love the intense gaze it has on it's face. Focus is tac sharp and colors true and natural.
