Smile as Monalisa, please... Keep the pose, please... Clic... Thank you very much, Racoon!

Northern Racoon
Procyon lotor

Geographic Range: Raccoons are found across southern Canada south to northern South America.
Habitat: Raccoons are extremely adaptable and continue to thrive despite the encroachment of civilization on their range. Woodlands near water are their preferred habitat, although raccoons may also be found in farmlands, suburban or urban areas. Raccoons prefer to den in trees, however, they may also use woodchuck burrows, caves, mine shafts, deserted buildings, barns, garages, rain sewers, or houses. Living in a burrow actually increases the raccoon's chances of survival by making it harder for its predators to find it. Hunting dogs have an easier time treeing a raccoon than forcing it out of a burrow.

Cute shot, great eye contact.Liked the composition.

Soo, you were sucking up to her, calling her Mona Lisa, just until you had your photo. And then she was back to being just "racoon"?? Typically male behaviour ;-))
Anyway, it's an excellent shot with very high cuteness factor, great colours and sharpness and good POV.

It's a great picture, Luc, the cute-factor is very high.
She looks very cool and peaceful with the arms crossed.
The look in the eyes are also very nice.
You did a great job.

And so, I see that your day at the Ecomuseum was not without some found treasure!

Excellent pose, and adorability factor is high on this one, Luc.

Well done, and TFS.

Lovely shot Luc!

Okay, Luc. Time to confess. Did you really tell that little raccoon to cross his paws just so and pose for you. That is just too adorable. Wonderful POV, stunnng details and light and colors. Great catchlight. Congratulations and merci bien pour ce partage trop mignon. : )

Magnifique portrait. Le regard et la position des pattes font penser qu'il l'a fait exprès pour toi. La netteté est superbe.
Félicitations.
Salutations Toni

Very endearing, Luc. The paws are priceless! I had a lot of trouble getting the exposure correctly on my raccoon photos and you did it wonderfully. The detail of the fur is very sharp and the color very natural. Very nicely done! :-) Thanks for sharing one of your Ecomuseum friends.

A rushed weekend critique I'm afraid.
Great pose, great title. Great capture Luc, thanks for posting.
Have a great weekend

:) What an amazing pose! It has its arms folded, looking so relaxed. Beautiful. Well done on capturing that moment, Luc. Technically the focus and DOF is good. Very nice shot.

Jan-Hendrik

Patte croisée, souriant à l'objectif, la pose est superbe. Elle doit te considérer comme un faillier pour te faire se plaisir.
Beau travail comme à chaque fois
Guy

Wow, Luc, what an amazing capture. I just loved the crossed paws. This must be a girl. Fabulous POV and focus.

Alli

very original title! the "arms" of Monalisa are great! as in "original". very well seen. tfs

Maybe the reflection in the eyes of Mona Lisa could be nicer. Not much you could do about it, and I don't really mind anyway. The pic is great.

Hi Luc,

Very good close-up of this cute little fellow! The pose and the way he holds his hands make it look like a studio photography of a human (female) subject. Nice comparision with Monalisa. :) I like the colors, details and sharpness but at f/3.5 I expected a much shallower DOF. Even at this apperture there is no fall-off in the sharpness on the racoon's body. However, the subject is very well isolated from the BG and draws attention. Eye contact is also great and so is the catchlight in the eyes. It was a good ideea to fire the flash during exposure! A great post with a good note! Well done! Thanks!

Best regards,
Eddie
