Hello friends, the American Woodcock
on its take-off pose in his very thick
and difficult to walk through habitat.

I was with my friend that he do
American woodcocks banding, we were with
his pointing dog that he find this bird.

1/2000s f/5.6 ISO1600
85mm (35mm eq:127mm),
the light being not good
I higher the ISO to 1600.

Environmental Conservation website.

« Woodcock are a popular game bird in New York
and are pursued by many hunters. The hunting
season for them is relatively short and runs
from early October into November. Hunting woodcock
is not for the faint of heart. The habitat of these
secretive birds is usually very thick and difficult
to walk through.
As such, woodcock hunters often go out with a well-trained dog, which makes it easier
to find the birds. »

Merci.

Bonjour Asbed,
Un exercice difficile compte tenu du mimétisme du sujet avec son environnement.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
