Hello friends, and here is the
American Woodcock in-flight.

1/2000s f/5.6 ISO1600 85mm (35mm eq:127mm).

« Migration
Resident to short-distance migrant. Most populations
migrate southward for winter, staying in North America.
Some southern populations may stay in the same
place year-round. Northern populations travel to
and from the Gulf states following broad eastern
and central flyways. They migrate during the night
at a leisurely pace, singly or in small flocks. »

Best wishes,

That's a wonderful photo of a woodcock Asbed. The form he's in is fantastic. What a shot. That 1/2000 of a second shutter took a fantastic shot. Your camera really gave you a clear image. Love that 5100. Trevor

Hello Asbed
very nice inflight with the feathers and plumage well seen. Exciting to shoot the birds in flight.
Lovely colors.

Hi Asbed,
The chosen exposure time is absolutely excellent. Shallow depth of field is also great, probably the crop should be more narrow to make the main compositional element bigger and more interesting to the viewer. A little noise reduction also is in need in my opinion, eventhough a good photo overall.
Best regards from Ireland, László
