It look pretty much like tourmaline, nobody is sure about it. Do you have any idea ?

Been observed in a pegmatite dyke.

Hi Frank
This could be a Ruby, Garnet, Red Spinel, Red topaz, Red Tourmaline, Tugtupite, just to name a few red minerals. It's really beautiful what ever it is.
In one my books it was saying Ruby's can have white lines through it.

Hi Frank. The crystals sure look like tourmaline, but here ours is normall pure black. Good close up of this specimen. TFS. Murray.
