[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This male Mountain Bluebird was bringing a grasshopper back to the nest to fed the young. Both parent share in the raising of the young. I am always amazed at the colour of their plumage. This image was shot near the Bison Paddock at Waterton Lakes National Park in June.

Hih Rick,
a beauty mate, vivid blue against a soft neutral background combined with a razor sharp focus and details equal a winner - well done!!

Hi Rick, good to see you back with a new post and it is a cracker for the colour of this fellow is so very vivid,no wonder you are amazed by them.I have a few Mountain Birds photoed as well but none of them are really very good as they lack in decent detail and I never seem to get near enough to them. The colour looks spot on and the pov is good with sharp details.I like the fact the bird has it's diner in it's beak as that adds more interest to the composition. Thanks for sharing Mr.Blue with us.

Hi Rick
This is one of the most beautiful bird I ever see!Colors and details are wonderful!

Hello Rick,
What a superb bird, so well captured by you with a grasshopper caught to feed its young.
The colours, POV, pose and sharpness with a nice clean BG all contribute to the attraction of this image. If it were'nt for the barbed wire....
We can't always choose and you made the best of the situation presented to you.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,

Hi Rick,

This bird is gorgeous! I have never seen feathers in such a wonderful shade of blue. Perfect capture with the grasshopper in his beak. The details of the face, eye, and feathers are excellent. He shows off very well against the nice background.

Hi Rick,
The colors on these blue birds are really amazing,
and you did an excellent job of capturing them.
So many gradients of blue.
And to add to the beauty, a moment well caught.
The bug in the beak adds that much more to the shot.
